On the 7th and 8th of May, DARC held their yearly “Durham City Regatta”, with a theme of the Kings Coronation inspiring the winners medals.
On Sunday the juniors were out in force with wins for J15 4x+, WJ15 2x and J14 1x. They came back for more on Monday with wins for: J15 4x+, J15 2x, WJ15 4x+, WJ14 4x+ and WJ15 1x. We also had several adult entrants, in the morning a mixed crew of Christine, Hannah, Andrew and David G raced in the Mixed 4x- division, with them being place in the straight final against a more experienced DARC crew. In the afternoon, Christine and Ana competed in Masters Womens Double with a straight final against Durham where they rowed to victory and came away with their first winner medals! Stuart came second in his single and doubled with Andrew to meet stiff opposition from a Newark/Hollingworth composite. The mens G quad of Rob, John, Andrew and David B came home victorious.
